Weddings

For 18 years weddings have been a big part of my life and work. I have photographed over 450 weddings and it has been a privilege to play such a big part in so many couples special day. I have been a member of Fearless Photographers, The International Society for Professional Wedding Photographers, MV Photographers and I am a judge for the Prestigious The Wedding Industry Awards (TWIA).

I have photographed weddings all over the UK, from the North of Scotland, down to Cornwall and the odd destination abroad!

I still love the buzz and excitement of a wedding day. Weddings are such a unique occasion, there aren’t many times in life when you have everyone that means something to you, there in one place.

Lifestyle Wedding Photography

You will often hear photographers describe themselves as documentary or lifestyle photographers. Documentary photography is, in it’s definitive form, purely observational, no intervention at all. For me, on a wedding, this does not work. To get the best images there are times when the photographer needs to intervene, to adjust something or to move people into better light and offer gentle direction. This is lifestyle photography, half way between documentary and more formal portrait photography. It’s more about capturing the mood, photographing emotions and connection. For me it’s also important to let the wedding unfold naturally so I will keep any interference to a minimum. I’m often seen as a guest and not one of the hired help, this helps lower the barriers and allows me to capture the real essence of the day.

You can see a selection of wedding photographs below but if you head over to my Journal you will be able to browse full wedding stories.

If you would like to discuss your wedding please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
