La Villa Hotel – Katie & Wayne’s fabulous Italian Wedding
My journey started on the Friday before the wedding, flying from Gatwick to Genoa, arriving in Italy at 3:00pm. I’d pre booked a hire car and set off towards Mombaruzzo, 90km and about an hours drive…it took me a little longer! The scenery was breathtaking, all moutons and vineyards. Eventually I arrived at my hotel, (which was lovely, thank you Katie and Wayne!) and had time for a chill out before heading over to the fabulous La Villa Hotel where Katie and Wayne were hosting a pre-wedding BBQ with a very british pub quiz later in the evening. I was invited along just to enjoy myself but of course I took a camera! I’ve not posted any shots here, that would have to be a separate blog post 🙂
I left the party reasonably early, I wanted to be fresh for the wedding! I had a lovely nights sleep in my hotel followed by a typical Italian breakfast before getting ready from the wedding. I arrived early to get some scene setters and bumped into Wayne and some of the guests relaxing with a cold drink. That was how the wedding was going to be, very relaxed, with a great bunch of people!
I made my way over to see Katie, her and the bridesmaids were all getting ready in one of the rooms, which are all fantastic, the hotel is stunning! Again everyone was just having a good time!
When it was time for the wedding the guests were ushered onto a terrace at the front of the hotel with fantastic views across the neighbouring vineyards. Wayne waited patiently at the front and when Katie came down the the isle everyone got quite emotional!
The drinks reception was in the main garden at the front of the hotel, with canapés and drinks a plenty. When it was time for the wedding breakfast the guests were led through to the back of the hotel by Katie and Wayne where the tables were laid outside and it looked stunning! Chris and Nicola (the hotels owners) did an amazing job!
The party started after the speeches, with a singer playing a great up tempo set, I left with the party still in full swing and judging by some of the faces in the airport the next day, it went on for a while after!
Here are just a few of my favourites from the day.
