A Fabulous Christmas Wedding at Wood Hall
Sarah and Jonathan had come up from Berkshire to Yorkshire for their New Years Eve wedding. It’s a short drive for me to Wood Hall although the amount of rain coming down on the way up meant it was a steady drive! Luckily the wedding was all in one place so there was no need to venture outside if the weather didn’t improve.
Sarah and Jonathan had taken over the hotel and when I arrived it was buzzing, all the boys were already dressed and ready to go and the girls getting prepared in one of the suites. Make-up in one room hair in another, champagne in hand! It was all very festive.
The ceremony room was really something special, trees, white carpet, candles and star shaped fairy lights adorned the isle, it looked amazing and was well worth the effort!
Outside in the bar guests were arriving and the place was filling up nicely, we even got a gap in the rain to get a shot of the boys outside before the ceremony.
The ceremony was beautiful, lit with just candles and fairy lights, so atmospheric. Lovely readings and Sara’s sister played the keyboard and sang.
When we came back into the reception we were greeted with sunshine! Not wanting to waste the opportunity we got everyone outside and quickly ran through the groups and even had time for a few relaxed portraits of Sarah and Jonathan.
The ceremony room was transformed during the drinks reception, it became a winter wonderland, it looked amazing. The tables were named after Sarah and Jonathan’s favourite festive films and there were candles and fairy lights everywhere.
It was a real pleasure to photograph and as you can see it was a really happy, festive occasion.
