This was my first visit to Crow Hill, it’s a lovely venue nestled away just outside Huddersfield in Marsden.

Kelsey and Lee had a civil ceremony in the main house followed by drinks and canapes in the glorious sunshine before heading into the fantastic Marquee. The marquee is a semi permanent structure (there all summer) with it’s own bar/lounge area and a permanent dance floor, very nice!

It was a very relaxed day with no official speeches, everyone just enjoying the celebration. I think Lee’s main concern was the first dance…but he pulled it off!

This Queensberry album is Amy & Richard’s, they were married at Hodsock Priory in December, you can see the original blog post here.

I arrived at Richard’s house to find him putting the finishing touches to his speech! After a few shots of the boy’s I drove across to Amy’s parent’s house which was a hive of activity. I managed to get some lovely shots of the dress and details as well as the girls and Amy getting ready.

The ceremony was held in Blyth Church, just a short drive from the house, luckily the snow had gone from all the roads so everyone managed to get there ok.

The day was beautiful, lovely low winter sun which really added to the Christmas feel, the reindeer at Hodsock also helped!

The room in Hodsock looked amazing, set out by Lucy from Love in a Mist. The food is also worth a mention, absolutely gorgeous, as usual from Ann at W & M Wrights.

Alison and David had planned a intimate Bonfire night wedding at East Lodge in Rowsley. I met Alison at home where she was getting ready with her bridesmaids before shooting off to East Lodge to meet the boys. The day started off lovely although after the ceremony the heavens opened, undeterred we drove up to Chatsworth for a few shots in front of the big house…with brollies!

Alison’s dress and shoes were from Choola in Sheffield, the flowers were from Katie Peckett, just up the road from Choola and the fabulous cake was from The Cake Booth.

They had a very ‘Yorkshire’ wedding, a brass band in the church with tea and cake after the ceremony and roast beef and Yorkshire pudding for the main course in the wedding breakfast!

The wedding was held at St.John’s in Deepcar with the reception at Whitley Hall. I love working at Whitley Hall, lovely grounds award winning food…and 5 minutes from my house

Beckie & Aron were my first couple who were both getting ready at Hodsock, making use of the fabulous new Courtyard centre (just a very short walk from the main house). This made it easy to get photo’s of both Beckie and Aron getting ready.

The bridal suite really is special for getting ready (especially from a photographers point of view) plenty of light and tastefully finished. As you can see it also gives a great backdrop for the detail shots of shoes, dress and jewelry.

Beckie wore a beautiful Suzanne Neville dress, which she got from the store in London, (brides in Sheffield should see Emma at Freya Bridal) and a pair of Christian Louboutin shoes.

Catherine at Petalis had done the flowers and they looked fantastic, I know Beckie was really pleased.

Finally, the food, W & M Wright had laid on sausage and mash, you’ve never tasted sausages like them! Thanks Ann for keeping me fed

A few favourites;

Debra was getting ready in the bridal suite which is great for photography, very large and grand with plenty of light. There are also really good places to photograph the dress, shoes and all the little details.

Once Debra was ready she came down through her guests, who lined the stairs and corridors and clapped her into the ceremony!

After the ceremony I took the opportunity to take Debra and Neil round the grounds for some relaxed portraits (I wanted to show off her beautiful Suzanne Neville dress!). Although I’ve photographed at Hodsock a few times the gardens are so nice it’s always easy to find some different shots.

Their wedding was slightly unusual in that they had a full Sikh ceremony followed by a full Christian ceremony.

It was an early start arriving at Riki’s parents house to the preparations, and then on to Ramgarhia Gurdwara temple for the Sikh ceremony. Before the ceremony everyone enjoys breakfast together in the temple, delicious

Straight after the Sikh ceremony it was off to Saltaire Untied Reform Church for the Christian ceremony, this church is fabulous, unfortunately it is being renovated at the moment so shots of the outside were not possible.

The reception was held just up the road at Victoria Hall, still in Saltaire, there was a fantastic Indian meal followed by a night of Bhangra music.

Before the evening entertainment started we just had time to nip out and take some relaxed portraits by the canal.

It was only a short walk to the church, unfortunately it was tipping it down with rain, so a short drive was required.

St.Mary’s church has a fantastic interior, and there was plenty of light, I got some great shots.

The reception was held at a new venue for me, Shottle Hall in Belper, a lovely old Hall very well finished. By this time the rain had stopped, but there was still a very angry sky! This gave us a chance for some relaxed portraits in the grounds.

Tracie & Matthew got married at the fabulous Hazelwood Castle in Yorkshire. The weather was great, not too hot but sunny all day.

Hazelwood Castle has a chapel in the grounds but it isn’t licenced for weddings so Tracie and Matthew had a small civil ceremony in the main house while their guests assembled in the chapel for the blessing.

The house and grounds have so many possibilities for photographs it’s great, I managed to spend little time to create some relaxed portraits (the weather helped ).
