Commercial photography in Sheffield

A couple of months ago I was approached by Scott Barton who asked if I was up for shooting the 2011 Grin up North image. Of course I jumped at the chance.

The running theme is always the Groucho Marx glasses, this time the idea was to get a shot with a greyhound wearing the glasses, very Northern

On the day of the shoot the Retired Greyhound Trust arrived with a selection of dogs and Scott arrived with a selection of children’s flat caps…

So, it was a little hit and miss but we ended up with a selection of images and one absolute winner.

If you are from Sheffield you have probably seen the poster, they seem to be everywhere, the photo is also the front cover of the program.

The Grin up North comedy festival runs though the whole of October and has some fantastic acts so check it out!

Jules at the Copthorne Hotel

Jules are a professional wedding and function band and wanted some photographs to update their website and literature.

I met them late one night at the Copthorne hotel in Sheffield and spent an hour taking some shots. I was seriously impressed with the quality so if you after a band for your wedding I would definitely check them out.

Mercedes Vito Sport Brochure

A few weeks ago I was commissioned to do a shoot, the end client was Mercedes-Benz and the job was for the new Vito Sport brochure.

Mercedes are trying to tap into the lifestyle van market that Volkswagen have got the lions share of (45 years of heritage!). The art director had clear ideas which helped immensely with finding the locations. We used normal riders and kit to try a make it seem more accessible.

This is the finished article, apologies for the splitting of the double page spreads they were just too big otherwise.

Hype Dance | Routes, final night, Leeds.

I love photography and I love every job that comes along but sometimes a job comes up that really whets the appetite. Hype Dance are a dance academy and touring group based at the Leadmill in Sheffield and I was asked to photograph the final night of their latest production, Routes, which is a Hip Hop dance, theatre production (correct me if I’ve got that wrong Anna!) These are a selection of shots from the night.

Sometimes you get a job that comes along that you feel really comfortable with, somthing that maybe you have a pasion for of just love the product. Alan is a graphic artist working in Sheffield and he has come up with a range of t-shirts featuring work from various artists (including himself). It’s not a new idea but the quality of the product he is offering and the designs themselves are great. Hodsock Priory Snowdrops

Hodsock Priory is a fantastic wedding venue in Blythe, Nottinghamshire but during February 100′s of people decend on the Priory to see their famous snowdrops. George, who owns Hodsock Priory had asked me if I could take some new photographs for the brochure and web site so I took the oportunity to take the kids along to help! We had a beautiful winters day and spent a couple of hours wandering round the gardens before finishing with a well earned cup of tea and a cake. Hodsock also have a dedicated web site for the snowdrops here.
